DESIGNING, ILLUSTRATING AND PRODUCING A PICTURE STORYBOOK FOR KIDS
Happy Space is a charming storybook that is full of love and fun for young readers. Written by a very special dad, this story aims to help parents deal with a child's fear and fragility by creating a place where a child can find their happy space.
The Challenge
This special project required us to create an enchanting sci-fi world where the huggable Happlingiloot characters live. It was critical that each character had their own unique adorable persona, yet all looked similar. The Happlingiloot world also needed to be filled with fun creatures that appear in different craters, trees or between branches so that kids search for these characters. Each page needed to be a visual treasure hunt.
The Outcome
Happy Space literally opened up the creative floodgates and let our imaginations flow. We had great fun creating these beloved monsters and their curious world, giving the book its own unique style. Client and his son are overjoyed with the result and are now in the process of publishing this magical book. ‘Happlingiloot’ now rolls of our tongues like a happy song that we sing out loud without getting our tongues in a twist.
