Born in 1967, UK. Lives and works between the UK and Lisbon, Portugal.

Radcliffe’s work employs iconography, the “screen print” process and contemporary technology to make his images. His mediums and materials are line-art, computer modelling, large format Giclée printing, laser cut steel, cast concrete and polished steel. His message is to return to a spirit of Eden, Love and Innocence. The results of his personal philosophy and visual alchemy are translated into wall-hung fine artworks and relief sculptures.

A meaning of affirmation and emptiness found in the broad use of colours and a wide variety of subject matter unrolls a deep loss of sentiment in modern society. Spirit and a zest for life are activated by the movement of energetic line-art and shadows created by the deliberate use of clean lines and brightly lit surfaces.

Process and Media

The process of creation also makes its way into his aesthetics removing the artist’s hand - in a process of steps that sees line art transferred into computer artwork - then large-scale proofs are printed - from which a scan is produced - which is then polished and redrawn by hand and finally reprinted as a vector into its maximum definition. It is a process that takes several weeks to see completion.

Chris Radcliffe’s works have been shown in exhibitions in the USA, England, Spain and South Africa.
